7-zip is one of the best compressors that can be found on the network, completely free. Despite not being advertised as the most famous, those who have used it have been enchanted by its extended support in multiple compression formats and user-friendly. It doesn’t have a nice visual esthetic but it’s very striking in the compression feature in what is distinguished.
You can compress 10% to 40% more than other compressors using its 7z format. It is a program under a GNU LGPL license, in other words an open source software. It has a very simple format and design, several options for its configuration, such as visualization in a double-panel, folder exploration and an option to test files created.
As disadvantages of the program we could mention the navigation. We couldn’t find an option to go to the previous page, we must press the backspace or choose the option from the Edit menu. It take more than normal in the compressing and uncompressing process which makes it a little slow, but when we navigate within the compressed files is as if we were exploring the file using windows.
Right now the last version available is the 4.57
