Thank you for putting something out easy to use for folks that don't under all there in to know about compressing files. A great program for those that do. Also WinZip and WINrar are not making money on it.

I began to use it after all known archiver WinRAR paid. Again, due to the closure of the same license, 7-Zip fully satisfies my needs that are not great. This unpacking archives 7z naturally as RAR, spare parts and alike. A breakthrough I have not seen.

I used 7-zip to perform a backup of thousands of files on our server. I have found it to be faster than WinZip and WinRar. It is perfect for splitting up large files into separate files for upload. File extraction is very quick also. It works well on 32 and 64-bit versions of Windows 8.
