Review
7-zip is a powerful file compressor utility. Do you know WinRAR? And what about Winzip? 7-zip has just the same features incorporated in it...But for free! No more payment fees to perform some operations from the daily work...Add files, extract and test archives.
When you start the program, you get a file manager that you can split in two visualization modes, one "flat" (without divisions on the screen) and another one called 2-panel view (like in Norton/Midnight/Total Commander).
It was very easy and fast to install (using the NSIS installer), nevertheless maybe there is some details I would like to change in the User Interface (icons above all, but also the location of some options...). The option screen has several basic options, like the file association regarding the extension, the program language (selecting from more than 50 of them!) some plugin configuration and the ability to set the internal editor used for opening some local files.
To be honest, most users prefer WinRAR or Winzip, but I'm sure that's a matter of habits... |
